How to Drink More Water

drink-more-waterDid you know that American people drink about 40% more water than 15 years ago? It is a positive statistic showing that people know how important to be hydrated. And instead of drinking soda, they turn slowly to the good old water.

But how much water do we drink daily? An average person consumes about 2.5 glasses that is far less than the recommended 8 glasses of water. That means most of us still prefer drinking various beverages instead of pure water.

In my opinion, the best way to be hydrated is to consume fresh water. There are so-called healthy drinks on the shelves of the shops, but all of them hold some unwanted components, such as artificial flavors or sugar that are surely not healthy at all.

Drinking enough water each day is critical for good health. Dehydration is one of the leading causes of many physical and even mental problems.

To tell the truth, I did not use to care about drinking enough water in the past. But since I changed my lifestyle I pay attention to the amount I drink every day.

I take on some habits that help me to achieve the 8 glass or more intake daily. Watch the video below to learn what I do. The most important is to have it close to you no matter what you do and where you go.


Other ways to drink more water

  • Add some flavor but of course, not artificial ones. Squeeze a lemon, lime or orange and add to your water. A healthy drink is ready.
  • Set your phone to remind you or install an app. You can find a few useful applications here.
  • Have water-rich fruits and veggies. For example, melon and cucumber.
    They also support your daily vitamin and mineral intake.
  • Make it a habit to drink before and during your meals. That even helps to consume less food, so it supports weight loss.
  • The types of food you eat can also contribute to drinking more. For example, spicy foods will make you thirsty, and they even boost your metabolism.
  • Get an infuser bottle, so you can make healthy drinks from various veggies and fruits.

As you see drinking more water is about taking up habits. It depends on you if you continue to live your life dehydrated or make a few changes in your lifestyle. We can live without food for weeks, but without water, just for a few days. That shows how vital the it is.
