But it is important what you have between your main meals. Of course, having junk will not help.
It is essential to have healthy snacks holding the proper quality and quantity of nutrients.
In the list below I would like to share you some of my healthy snack ideas that you can make in no time and which provide the right amount of quality nutrients you need between the main courses.
Under my list I have collected a big a list of recipes.
These are not only healthy, but really delicious even for your children!
Yogurt and Fruit Smoothies
Smoothies are hot these days, but I have to say many of them are not delicious. How can you make a fruit smoothie tastier? Add some low-fat yogurt! It is going to be much more yummy and you take in some protein as well besides the vitamins, fiber and minerals which can be found in the fruits.
But never use any sugar to make it sweeter!
Cut-up Fruits with Cottage Cheese
Pick some of your favorite fruit, cut them up and serve with some cream or cottage cheese. That is all!
Use low fat and bio cheese which is not processed. Check the label of the cheese before buying it. Avoid buying those which are full of saturated fats (mainly trans fat).
Veggies with Hummus
Hummus is made from chickpeas and it has many health benefits. You can buy ready-made hummus, but the homemade is the best. Below is how to do it, it is very easy to cook. Serve it with your favorite vegetables as a snack.
Take two slices of whole wheat bread or bun, put a low-fat ham and a lot of veggies between them, a nutritious snack is ready. Never put any mayonnaise or any artificial topping on it.
Nuts are among the most valuable foods as they are ultra high in beneficial fatty acids, protein, vitamins and minerals. The only problem is that they are rather high in calories, so you must be careful, do not consume too much.
Take some pieces of walnuts, almonds, pistachios or Brasil nuts and crunch them.
Whole Grain Muffins
Muffins do not have to be enemies of your diet. Make your muffins from whole-wheat, use no sugar and make it sweeter by using some dried fruits. You can eat them as they are or with some fruits. I prefer apple.
Peanut Butter Sandwich
Peanut butter is one of the most nutritious foods you can consume. It contains tons of protein and beneficial fatty acids, though it is a rich in calories, so consume it with moderation.
Take a slice brown bread, put some peanut butter on it with some slices of fruits and your healthy snack is ready.
Snacking between the meals helps not only to lose weight and fat, but also keep your blood sugar stable and you get the enough calories throughout the day. So, snacking is crucial for proper nutrition.
