We are in the middle of fall, and those evil viruses and bacteria are ready to attack us. Plus, the weather is capricious. It is cold in the morning, but in the afternoon we feel hot in our jackets. So, everything is given to get a bad cold. As it is said “Prevention is better than cure” so here are a few cold prevention tips that can help you to survive this time of the year.
1. Wash You Hands
Seems to be obvious, but a lot of people forget it. I’m among them. Your hands are full of bacteria and viruses. Just think about how many things you touch during the day. So, wash your hands many times during the day with lukewarm water and soap. If you are in a hurry, you can use disinfecting wipes.
2. Layered Clothing
Another common advice, but do not underestimate the importance of it. It is good to hear in the weather forecast that it will be 23 Celsius tomorrow, but in the morning it will not be more than 10 Celsius.
Hence, in the morning put on more clothes. And when you feel hot, you can take off one or two layers of clothes. I also recommend to wear different shoes while you go to work and change them something more comfortable at your workplace.

3. Healthy Eating
Firstly, pay attention to taking in enough liquid daily. Eight glasses of water or sugar-free herb tea are the best options.
Also, a balanced diet is vital to fight against illnesses as well. Eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible that are natural sources of vitamins and minerals. Have them raw or use them to cook delicious dishes. For example, fall is the time of broccoli and pumpkin that can be prepared many ways.Recommended: It’s Time to Enjoy Healthy Fall Foods
A healthy eating plan holds veggies, fruits, whole grains, low-fat meats and diaries, seeds, legumes. Everything that nature can give to you. They have everything that your immune system needs to prevent itself from autumn diseases.Recommended: The 5 Basic Food Groups For Healthy Life
It is obvious that the best sources of vitamins come from nature, but it is not always possible to cover our daily needs from them. Hence, you may have to take multivitamin as well.
One vitamin that you should particularly pay attention to is Vitamin D. During winter and autumn the hours of sunshine decrease. Plus, because of the bad weather we are more willing to stay indoor. Your body requires the sunshine to generate vitamin D, but since we are the lack of it, we should supplement it. It is recommended to have 2000 IU per day for adults.
5. Fresh Air And Exercising
Air your entire house regularly and be outdoor in the fresh air. Your body needs the fresh oxygen. Have a walk in the park, or ride a bike. No matter what you do just be outside. Moving outdoor refreshes your entire body and it helps you to forget your everyday problems.
If you work out regularly, for example, you run, do not be afraid of the cool weather. And, do not make it an excuse to put off your training.
These are the things we do with my family to protect ourselves from the illnesses of fall. And, I have to say it works. Give your body what it needs, and you do not have to suffer from cold anymore. What do you do? Share your tips with us below.
